The night had passed, and dawn was among the three. Kegyr had woken up, he had trouble falling to sleep in the first place.
He looked over his shoulder to see if Kanade or Ace were awake.

Kanade slept soundly , curled up near a wall.
"Mornin'," Ace said, pokeing the fire. (wit his hand! O.O)

(Badass alert!)
"Morni-" Kegyr stopped, "Doesn't that hurt?"

"hu? Oh this," he said poking the fire of emphasis, "No. Well not as long as I do it with this hand."

"Why just that hand?" Kegyr asked.

(dids regard whatever happened before Ace can use fire with his left and ice with his right)
"Well my other hand would get burnt wouldn't it? As for why, I don't know it's just how it's always been."

"I suppose that works" Kegyr said, "We still have a ways to go until we reach our destination, so take your time getting ready"

Kanade groaned and rolled over.
"mornin' all" she said sleepily

"Mornin" Kegyr replied, "Sleep well?"

"not the worst sleep I've ever had." she replied.

"That's good. We.'re just resting a bit more before we head out" Kegyr replied.

"OK." she said then saw Ace plaing with the fire, "doesn't that hurt?"
Ace sighed and didn't respond

Kegyr chuckled, "Apparently not"

Kanade opened her mouth then shut it again, then said, "should we get moving?" then a thought crossed her mind, "I don't suppose either of you have any food?"

"Food can be scarce, but there's usually people around who sell food" Kegyr replied, "And if they attack us, we know they have food or are just desperate for food."

"I didn't think so. Shall we just head out now?" she asked.

"Alrighty" Kegyr said, turning to Ace, "You ready?"

"yep," he said putting out the fire and standing up.

"We're going to try to make it to Lower District, so be ready" Kegyr said, starting to make his way down the building.

Kanade remembered the last time she was in Lower, it was only a matter of days ago. She was atop Revorn Bridge when she was suddenly attacked by monsters, only to be saved by and then save Kegyr(yeah did it happen like that I couldn't be bothered to go and look, my bro killed our net).
"I'm ready to go." she said.

(lol)
Kegyr had reached the bottom of the tower, but didn't go outside.
"Ugh" He whispered silently, waiting for the others to catch up.

the other two were close behind him.

"Careful" He whispered, "Zombies and an Alpha"

Ace drew his sword as Kanade readied her Kunai "Now many?"he asked

"5 Zombies and 2 Alphas" He answered, "The alphas are faster and stronger than the zombies, so lead them away and cut them down, the zombies will be easier to take out"

(coulda sworn I posted)
"you guys take out the Alphas." Kanade said drawing a Kunai and jumping silently into the air.

Kegyr slowly moved out of cover, being careful so that the zombies didn't notice him. He moved to the flanks of the Alphas and fired ice at them, missing on purpose so he could draw them away.

Ace followed Kegyr's lead

Kanade landed in front of the Zombies. The Zombies moved toward her. Kanade threw one of her Kunai, hitting one directly it's forehead.

Once the Alphas were out of range from the normal zombies, he lunged forward.
Time appeared to slow for a moment as he cleanly cut off the head of one zombie then quickly stabbing it it's vital organs: the heart, stomach, kidneys, intestines and even in the crotch.

(because the crouch it a vital organ)

The Zombies closed in on her, circling her. Closing her eyes she put her Kinai away and focused entirely on sucking away their life force.

The zombies around Kanade only seem to be slightly effected, enough to make them hesitate.

Kegyr quickly dispatched the other Aplha with a large spike of ice to the head.

Oh shit Kanade thought. pulling her Kunai back out and leaping into the air before they could catch her.

Ace shot a ice spike through the Alpha's mid section, causing it to fall over, he then finished it off by stabbing it through the head and heart.

"That should do it" He said, "We should check up on her"

The zombies appeared stunned for a moment, before turning to face Kanade at the same time, they began to shuffle towards her.

Kanade threw 2nd Kunai, taking out another Zombie. Using her final kunai as a blade she slashes at a Zombie, hurting but not killing it.

The zombie staggered backwards, growling in pain, it was about to lunge at Kanade when a shard of ice pierced its head.

"You alright?" Kegyr asked, approaching Kanade.

(hey how many left?)
"yep, thanks to you."

(None dey all deded)
"No problem" He said, regaining his breath, "We should get a move on"

(Kay!)
"Lead the way," Ace said.
Kanade was lost in thought, that had never happened before. Her magic had never failed that much. What was going on? Maybe the 'Author' would know?
