Scorched City

The boy nodded, not trusting his voice. Ace was holding on to Kegyr's arms, half because he felt a little safer having something to hold onto half because he just enjoyed the contact.

"I take it you dislike heights?" Kegyr said, noting the fact that Ace was holding his arms.

"A little," he said ok a lot.

"We can take a break soon, if you'd like?" Kegyr had begun to feel something strange in his chest, unsure of what the feeling was.
He frowned at his confusion.

"No. We've got to get through Koda before nightfall and I'd rather be up here then down there." Ace wondered at what he's meant by the statement; usually he's have chanced the monsters.

"Okay then, I'm going to increase my speed though." Kegyr said, his eyes fixated on the horizon.

Ace nodded. He wasn't to sure if he liked the idea of going faster but din't want to look weak.

Kegyr silently nodded before increasing his speed.
He easily closed the distance between him and Kanade.

"How're your wounds holding up?" Kanade asked, "wow he doesn't look so good."
"I'm fine," he lied, he didn't want the girl knowing this stomach was doing backflips and not just from the height.
(gonna bump Kanade's age up a bit. and fiddle with her personality and stuff)

"They won't tear open, Kiana did a good job on healong them" He replied, "How much further?"

"not far, you can see it over there," she said pointing toward the airport.

Kegyr squinted but could see it.
"Shouldn't take too long, it's close"

"nope!" Kanade said, pouring on the speed, zooming a head of the two males.
I'll just give those two some private time

Kegyr wanted to speed after her before remembering about his passenger.
"Well, almost there." He said, not knowing what else to say.

Ace nodded. He also didn't know what to say, however he also didn't want the silence to grow awkward.

"So." Kegyr began, "How do you like this grand city so far?"

(fun fact: Ace's eyes are still closed. well no for long)
Ace opened his eyes, looking at the city, rather then just straight down. "it's Beautiful.." he said awed

"It's ugly on the ground, but from the sky? It's like stumbling across a lost civilization, wh7ch we kinda are." Kegyr said.

"Yeah, I guess we are."

"I wonder if other cities even care, if they're still standing." Kegyr mumbled.

"I don't know. maybe one day we'll find out," he said

"Hopefully" Kegyr replied, starting begin his descent.

Kanade had landed a while ago and was scouting ahead.

Ace you glad to be back on solid ground. the thought of his closeness to Kegyr flooded back into his mind, leaving him with red cheeks and a fluttering heart.

Kegyr landed and cautiously let go of Ace, so that he didn't just fall flat on his face.
"Well, we're here." He said

"y-yeah," he said, taking an unsteady step forward.
(what now? and how are we gonna take this ship forward?)

"We should probably look for a place we can fortify" Kegyr said, taking the lead, "Splitting up would be a bad idea, who knows what's taken residence here?"

(you gonna tell me or just make it a surprise?)
Kanade amd Ace nodded and followed him.
"how about the insides of one of the planes?" kanade suggested

(Surprises~)
"I guess." He replied, looking over to a plane, it was still connected to the boarding passage, and it had most of its windows.
"We still have to go in the airport to reach it though, so be on your guard."

The two nodded, drawing their weapons and heading inside.

Kegyr likely did the same with his katana.

They entered the airport, it seemed mostly quiet, save for the occasional water drop or creaking wood.

"I've always wondered why these buildings erode so quickly..." Kegyr mumbled, taking a right.

"It probably has to do with the monsters," Kanade said, looking around also.

"Probably." He mumbled in reply, stopping at a terminal gate, "I think this is it, who knows if there were people in that plane, probably were."

"If there was then they're likely long gone now," Kanade said.
Ace had gone quite.

"Long gone or they've turned into the undead." Kegyr said, slowly creeping down the passage towards the plane.

"Come on I was trying to stay positive. You know what the say about the Devil" Kanade said.

Kegyr just remained silent as stepped onto the plane, the first thing he noticed was that there were 3 corpses in the plane. One was sitting down without a head, the second was practically melted into the chair and the last was standing, gazing at Kegyr with vicious eyes.

The first thing he did was fire off a few ice spikes, which impaled it in the head and chest, killing it instantly.
"It's clear...well, the air isn't" He said, looking at the other corpses suspiciously.

Kanade and Ace walked in. Upon breathing the polluted air Ace began to cough. Kanade was unaffected thanks to her demon heritage.

"Yeah, I could encase the bodies in ice, it might stop the smell." Kegyr said, he had smelt far worse though, "Then we just let the stink flow out the window."

"That sounds like a good idea," Kanade said as Ace was trying to not breath/open his mouth.
