The Zombies closed in on her, circling her. Closing her eyes she put her Kinai away and focused entirely on sucking away their life force.

The zombies around Kanade only seem to be slightly effected, enough to make them hesitate.

Kegyr quickly dispatched the other Aplha with a large spike of ice to the head.

Oh shit Kanade thought. pulling her Kunai back out and leaping into the air before they could catch her.

Ace shot a ice spike through the Alpha's mid section, causing it to fall over, he then finished it off by stabbing it through the head and heart.

"That should do it" He said, "We should check up on her"

The zombies appeared stunned for a moment, before turning to face Kanade at the same time, they began to shuffle towards her.

Kanade threw 2nd Kunai, taking out another Zombie. Using her final kunai as a blade she slashes at a Zombie, hurting but not killing it.

The zombie staggered backwards, growling in pain, it was about to lunge at Kanade when a shard of ice pierced its head.

"You alright?" Kegyr asked, approaching Kanade.

(hey how many left?)
"yep, thanks to you."

(None dey all deded)
"No problem" He said, regaining his breath, "We should get a move on"

(Kay!)
"Lead the way," Ace said.
Kanade was lost in thought, that had never happened before. Her magic had never failed that much. What was going on? Maybe the 'Author' would know?

Kagyr let an affirmative grunt as he continued on his way to Lower District.
If they were quick they'd reach it by tomorrow morning.

The group had managed to make it to Lower District before nightfall, thanks to the many shortcuts Kegyr had used.

"Should we keep going or find a place to rest?" He said, looking at the expanse of flat road ahead of them.

"How much longer to we have?" Ace asked, gazing at the setting sun.

"Before complete night? An hour or so" Kegyr answered, looking over his shoulder at Ace.

The boy had attracted a small increase of attention from Kegyr, though whether it was because they used the same magic at times or if Ace could fight by himself or something else was unknown.

(I was talking about if he knew how long until they arrived but hey I can roll with this too.)

Kanade was about to suggest they Try Revorn Bridge but stopped herself when she remembered that Ace couldn't fly and Kegyr was injured. "how about the Airport? It's usually okay their if you stay in the right places," she suggested.

"I guess, how far away is it?" Kegyr replied, "I've avoided the airport, it creeped me out."

"A few blocks away, but we gotta go through Koda or it'll take an extra 15 min or so"
(let's say they have less than an hour before sun down)

"Koda? Are you insane?" Kegyr blurted, "That street is flooded and swarming with Dredgers"

(Kegyr is about 6'2, or 187cm)

"Remember the part where I usually fly everywhere?" She shot back.
"Long way it it is!" Ace said, "Lead the way Kanade."

Kegyr just let out a frustrated sigh, but didn't say anything else.

"Wait a minute...Kegyr how are you for flying? we could fly over. Only problem is that Ace can't fly..." the Demon girl said thoughtfully.

"I could probably fly now." Kegyr answered, "I could carry Ace over if he'd let me..."

"I-" Ace stuttered, a light blush appearing on his cheeks.
"Well that settles it then!" Kanade exclaimed, "over Koda it is!"

Kegyr made his way towards Koda Street, leading both Ace and Kanade as he tracked his old paths that he made in the city.

Kanade was itching to get into the air again, Ace on the other hand was less keen.

Kegyr had reached the end of a trail, which stopped at the top floor of a high building, they had climbed a tower, then used the debris from multiple collapses to get across.

He extended his arm out to Ace as his wings appeared and stretched out to full length, "Ready?"

"Um..I-" He was once again cut of by Kanade.
"Hurry up you two!" she said pushing age toward Kegyr before taking off into the sky.

"Hold on" Kegyr whispered as he gripped Ace around the stomach with both hands as he launched into the air.

the colour had drained for Ace's face and the closed his eyes.
think about something else. anything else he thought but nothing came, nothing BUT Kegyr's arms around him. A light blush crossed his face, Luckily for both of them Kanade was to far ahead and too high to notice, otherwise they're never hear the end of it.

Kanade was above them, enjoying herself a little too much for a girl flying over an extremely dangerous street. she was doing flips and turns and dive and just generally enjoying being in the air.

Kegyr barely noticed that anything had changed in Ace's appearance as he couldn't see his face, but sensed something was wrong regardless.
"You alright?" He asked, making sure they wouldn't crash into any rogue obstacles.

The boy nodded, not trusting his voice. Ace was holding on to Kegyr's arms, half because he felt a little safer having something to hold onto half because he just enjoyed the contact.

"I take it you dislike heights?" Kegyr said, noting the fact that Ace was holding his arms.

"A little," he said ok a lot.

"We can take a break soon, if you'd like?" Kegyr had begun to feel something strange in his chest, unsure of what the feeling was.
He frowned at his confusion.

"No. We've got to get through Koda before nightfall and I'd rather be up here then down there." Ace wondered at what he's meant by the statement; usually he's have chanced the monsters.

"Okay then, I'm going to increase my speed though." Kegyr said, his eyes fixated on the horizon.

Ace nodded. He wasn't to sure if he liked the idea of going faster but din't want to look weak.

Kegyr silently nodded before increasing his speed.
He easily closed the distance between him and Kanade.

"How're your wounds holding up?" Kanade asked, "wow he doesn't look so good."
"I'm fine," he lied, he didn't want the girl knowing this stomach was doing backflips and not just from the height.
(gonna bump Kanade's age up a bit. and fiddle with her personality and stuff)
