Season's Dawn

"So...what now?" she asked.

"We finish up here and meet up with Ayaka" Kat replied, simply.

"well I think I'm done." She said and stood up.

" 'Kay" Kat said, "This way"
Kat started walking towards the Eastern Gate. Garen flew a bit above her head.

(grr I'm reading both the book and online manga of FT and the online version translates Gajeel's name to Gazeel.)

Just walked beside Kat, humming something. (passably Santa Clause is Coming to town AKA the stalker Song)

"Almost there" Kat said, "I wonder why he got 'distracted' "

"Doesn't seem like something he'd do." Just said, "What you think?"

"He's probably concerned with the celebrations" Kat replied, "Or he's coming up with plans and back-up plans"

"Yeah."She said.

After a few minutes, Kat and Just arrived at the eastern gate.
Ayaka was leaning against a thick post, he hadn't noticed their arrival.

"I wonder what would happen if we snuck up behind him...?" Just wondered mysteriously.
(this says that snuck is not a word...)

"Lets do it, then" Kat said, going into a ridiculous sneaking pose.

Ayaka continued to remain oblivious to the two girls.

"let's sneak up behind him." Just said moving un-suspiciously right.

It was only by coincidence that Ayaka turned around, somewhat surprised when he saw both of them, moreso when he saw Kat and her sneaking pose.

"Rats... We were so close!" Kat complained.

"Dang!' She Exclaimed, "So where to next?"

"The Blight" Ayaka said, grimly.
"Such a downer" Kat sighed.

"What's The Blight?" Just asked.

"A place void of life" Ayaka answered, "I'd rather not talk more about it, let's get a move on, shall we?"
"See? Such a downer!" Kat groaned.

"Void of life. That sounds nice. So very pleasant." Just said sarcastically, following Ayaka's lead.

After about 3 hours of walking, Ayaka stopped on top of a hill, the blighted lands were in sight now.
Black, scorched earth stretched off into the horizon, any plant life was wilted and dead, any buildings are rubble, all creatures are sick and twisted.
"We'll take a break before entering" He said, sitting down on the hill

"Finally!~" Kat moaned, falling to the ground and laying on her back.

Just stared at the blackened land, transfixed. The place felt like death. It hit her as an almost physical force.(No magic just letting you know, just normal human feeling. if you don't understand then never mind)
"This place..." She trailed off.

"Will try to kill you at every turn, so be on guard" Ayaka finished Just's sentence, "I'll be able to handle the worst of the monsters if need be."

"Let's hope it doesn't come to that." She muttered.

"Mhm" Ayaka hummed, closing his eyes and falling asleep.
"Did he just?" Kat moaned, "He fell asleep!"

"did he really just...dose he usually do that?"

"I'm afraid so..." Kat said, "Do you have cold water? It'd be useful right now"

"Ice?"

"I suppose it'll work if you freeze his legs" Kat said.

"I can do that." She smiled, placing a finger on each of his shins. Frost crept across he legs, making swirling patters as it went.

Ayaka stirred slightly, he could feel the cold wrapping around his legs, but went to dismiss it. After a few seconds he opened his eyes and looked at his legs, they were completely frozen.
"Hm" He mumbled, "There are easier ways to wake me up"

Kat sighed, looking back to Just, "Thanks. It can be difficult to wake him up, I hear"

(lol just looking back on her profile. She has a Cat. O.O how did I manage to forget that!)
"should we like get moving or something?"

(Oh shizzle! I forgot about her Exceed!)
"I suppose so" Ayaka said, lazily standing up. "Lets go find us a key"

"took ya long enough." she said, petting Fallen.

"Anyway, we should get a move on, coming?" Ayaka said, looking at both Kat and Just with separate glances, before moving towards the land.

Kat readied her keys, in case they were attacked.

(just realised how useless her magic could be in a fight)

Ayaka led them into the deadlands, just stepping on the blighted soil was like stepping on dead leaves. Stealth wasn't much of an option.
(If you want, you can control a group of monsters lol)

Just cringed as the ground crunched under her feet.
"What if something hears us?" Just asked worriedly.

Paws padded , silently in the thicket behind the road.
Fresh meat the alpha thought joyously to it's pack.
fresh meat, fresh meat they echoed, spreading out and surrounding the hapless travlers.
