The Beacon within Darkness

(Yep, also, there are 2 man teams as seen in RWBY volume 2 so we can be a 2 man team)

we request that all passengers to please take a seat and farson (can't spell) your seat-belts as we will begin landing shortly.
"Finally," Yuma said, clipping in her seat-belt.

"Nearly there now" Lana said, putting her seat belt on, "We're so close to Beacon now"

The air ship landed and the students disbarment excited to be at their new school. Well all but one.
A slightly built boy with rusty red hair came running off the airship and made a bee line for the nearest rubbish bin.
"There's one every year," said a wild haired blond woman.
The red head next to her chuckled, "it appears so."
"Come on you two we have lessons to plan. New students means new minds and new minds seek knowledge." Said the blond man next to the red head.
The two women only laughed, No one would have ever dared bet that the once infamous Sun Wukong would in some years become a perfectly respectable teacher at beacon. Nor would they dear consider him looking socially respectable. Well all but one that is. She had changed him, for the better.

Lana was preventing herself from jumping up and down, it was physically obvious as she constantly went up and down of her toes whenever she stood still,

"It's happening" She said, "We're actually here"

"It is, we're actually going to become hunters!"

"Bah!" She said, "Let's hurry up and get there before everyone else does"

"Okay, okay." he said following her out

"I still can't believe this is happening!" She shouted, though not over the voices of others.

Yuma nodded.

the students exited the aircraft and assembled in front of a group of teachers.
"Welcome to Beacon," a red head woman said, "please this way to the grate hall"

Lana did as she was instructed and walked to the hall, "Amazing" She said entering the hall.

Once the students were seated a teacher began to speak.
"Greetings new students My name is professor Ozpin, I am the headmaster of Beacon," he began the orientation speech.( Blar bla blar shall we skip this bit cause I can't remember what or if he says anything)

(xD skip to the part where teams are announced?)

(that was after the big scavenger hunt but we could just give that a miss so we can get right into the action)

(Oh, the scavenger hunt? I can't remember that xD We should do that first)

(but we only have two people... Let's say that this year the teams were chosen to compliment the member's strengths. Actually I was planning to add a new character so I'll make the character later today and post the scavenger hunt bit later)

(Alrighty)

"I suppose you are all very eager to start your education but we must first sort you into teams. Teams may be as small as two but no more than four. Now To start we will sort you into pair and from their you will go into the forest and recover an artifact each," Prof. Ozpin said. He was silent giving the student s a chance to react.

"Artifacts?" Lana practically lit up, "We get to go out already?"

"This scavenger hunt will be conducted in Forever Fall Forest and will last until all contestants are either safely back or unable to continue. Please come to the stage as your names are called These will be the team mach ups," he said as pairs of faces appeared on the large screen behind him, "Lana Highcross and Rina Tomare."

Rina stood tentatively and headed for the stage.

Lana practically jumped out of her seat and ran for the stage, she didn't say anything, but stood there quietly, overlooking the audience as joy was pretty much painted onto her face.

Rina walked onto the stage, staring at her feet in order to hide her blush.
"OK you two head into the room behind the stage and wait for the other's to join you." Ozpin said

"Hai!" Lana said, refraining herself from running.

"hi..." she whispered walking toward the door.

Lana looked over to the girl, "So you're going to be my partner, hey?" She said, her voice cooling down from all the excitement, "Rina, wasn't it?"

The girl nodded, still not looking up.

"Don't talk much?" Lana commented, "I wonder what and who we'll be up against"

The girl shuffled her feet uncomfortably as though she was trying to build up the courage to say something.

Lana grumbled a little as she looked up at the ceiling, "How long does it take to form teams? I know there's a lot of us..." She trailed off for a moment, "But we were the first to be called out...ugh! We're going to be for ages!"

(actually there were others before us but what the hay)
"yeah..." she whispered as though it was all she could manage.

Lana shot a glance at Rina, her face displayed a look of curiosity, "You spoke" She stated.

"umm..." she said scuffing her feet on the concrete floor.
